6. Monocot Plant with Flower and Leaf

Monocotyledons, or the monocots, have, just as their name would suggest, one cotyledon or embryonic leaf in their seeds. Lilies are monocotyledons because if you were to cut open their seeds you would see there is only a single cotyledon.
